If you are practicing short-cut self healing on two consecutive days, on the second day, heal the back of the chakras instead of the front - this will help keep your energy more balanced. If you can't hold your feet for example, you can send Reiki long distance. Problems and pitfalls are often triggers for our progress, and if they are needed, you will be blessed with them.

Next, imagine a double layered purple-coloured egg surrounding your body.
If so, consider using a chime timer that emits sweet tones to remind you to move your hands and let you know when your session ends the sound of a kitchen timer is much too harsh. Quite the contrary, you need to continue practicing Reiki everyday even after the day period. One day a wise healer showed me how the body has an innate capacity for healing. When life imposes on your practice time, as sometimes happens, do what you can that day to maintain the rhythm of your daily self-care, and return to the full protocol the next day.
Sometimes, you also tend to pick up negative energies. One needs to have faith in Reiki that whatever is happening to us, is for our own good alone. As a regular practioner, you are much more sensitive to the ups and downs of energy, and you will sense loss of energy when or after it happens. Start with your head and scan all the way through down to your toes.
Practice Reiki when you're in the bus, while watching television, while on the phone, or in meetings. It is upto you to make a concious effort to determine what matters the most to you in your life, and work in that direction. This gives your hands a habit to follow without having to think about it, leaving your awareness open to enjoy your practice.
